The Father

The Father
By Michelle Higgins

He is not only the giver of life,
but the guardian of it.
The Father is the pillar unseen,
holding up the roof of generations
so his children may grow beneath its shelter.
His voice carries more than words—
it carries blessing,
it carries direction,
it carries the strength to walk upright
when the world would rather see them bowed.
He is carved by sacrifice,
his dreams often set aside
to make room for the dreams of those he loves.
And yet in that surrender
he becomes greater than himself,
a living bridge between what was
and what is yet to come.
The Father bears the fire of protection,
the steady flame of provision,
the quiet endurance of love unspoken—
and in his silence,
his children hear the loudest truth:
that they are worthy,
that they are seen,
that they are never alone.
His legacy is not measured in wealth or monuments,
but in the way his children carry his lessons
long after his voice is gone.
It is written in the strength of their character,
in the compassion of their choices,
in the way they, too,
become pillars for those yet unborn.
The Father carries tomorrow not in his hands,
but in his heart,
where every hope for his children rests.
And when they rise,
they rise on his prayers,
on his example,
on the foundation of a love
that will echo through their children’s children.
