The Battle Within
By Michelle Higgins
There is a war not seen by eyes,
where shadows whisper ancient lies,
and light, unyielding, takes its stand
to heal the heart, to free the land.
The battle fades, the fire grows still,
a higher voice commands the will.
Through silence deep, the heart takes aim,
and breath becomes the holy flame.
Truth is armor, forged in pain,
in tears that fall like holy rain.
Each wound once cut by fear or shame
now glows—a mark of love reclaimed.
The darkness rages, testing worth,
but light remembers why it birthed:
to walk in grace where angels tread,
to speak of life among the dead.
Stand tall, O soul, unmasked, awake,
let every chain within you break.
Each truth you voice, each vow you keep,
redeems the lost, restores the weak.
The war is won by hearts that choose
to love, no matter what they lose—
for when you stand in who you are,
the light within ignites a star.
